And just like that, it’s the end of 2022. When it comes to celebrations, it’s no secret that New Year’s Eve is one of the most popular. Thankfully, St. Augustine, Florida is just as fond of New Year’s Eve as the rest of us. Here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in St. Augustine. 

Nights of Lights 

It may not always be possible to spend a New Year’s Eve evening under the stars, but in St. Augustine, you can spend them under the lights. The annual Nights of Lights tradition make the perfect addition to your New Year’s Eve celebration. With millions of sparkling white lights covering the city, there’s no better sight! So, whether you’re taking a stroll through town, hopping on a city boat tour or a horse-drawn carriage, the festival of lights is a fantastic way to say goodbye to 2022!

Light Up The Night! Beach Fireworks 

It wouldn’t be a true New Year’s Eve in St. Augustine, Florida without a display of fireworks on the water. Head over to St. Augustine Beach for one of the most magical fireworks displays you’ve ever seen. Light Up The Night! is great for families, friends or even a relaxing date night, all you need to bring is a blanket to enjoy this show. 

Brazilian Carnival Celebration at Embassy Suite’s 

Every year, Embassy Suite’s St. Augustine puts on a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration and this year is no exception. This year’s theme is Brazilian Carnival where guests are invited to dress their very best as they enjoy the party of the year! This event includes an open bar, food vendors, live entertainment, party favors, private viewing of the “Light Up the Nights” beach fireworks, dancing in the grand ballroom and much more as you wait for the clock to strike midnight. 

Vernardos Circus at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre  

Looking for a way to celebrate New Year’s Eve in St. Augustine that’s perfect for the whole family? You’re in luck! The St. Augustine Amphitheatre welcomes back the Venardos Circus, a world-class circus act transformed into a Broadway Musical. This family-friendly event will feature circus favorites, as well as Broadway musical-style performances created by former Ringling Bros. performers.

New Year’s Eve Gala at The Lightner 

Ring in the New Year at The Lightner Museum’s 75th Anniversary New Year’s Eve Gala! This two-part event includes dinner and cocktail reception from 7pm-9pm and Countdown Party from 10:00pm–12:30am. The dinner and cocktail reception includes an open bar, seated dinner catered by Chef’s Garden, live music by the Alberto Cebollero Trio and admission to the Countdown Party, where guests will gather in the historic Alcazar casino for hors d’oeuvres, live music by local performer, Ramona + The Riot, midnight champagne toast and balloon drop. It’s time to ring in the new year in style! 

A Classical Performance – Die Fledermaus 

If you’re looking for a classic way to celebrate New Year’s Eve in St. Augustine, Florida, it’s time to head over to Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College for an exquisite performance of Die Fledermaus presented by the First Coast Opera. This fully-staged production features the orchestra of Johann Strauss Jr’s classic 19th Century Viennese Operetta, as well as a complimentary champagne toast at intermission. 

Hair of The Dog 

When it comes to recovering from New Year’s Eve celebrations, there’s only one answer – brunch!
